Snooker World Championship Betting Odds & Player Predictions
Ronnie O’Sullivan (43/10)
The Rocket’s odds have lengthened in the last few weeks, due to his recent poor form.
Indeed, O’Sullivan hasn’t had the best of times lately, with his famous cue action letting him down occasionally.
O’Sullivan was embarrassed at the World Grand Prix by Thailand’s Saengkham, despite having led 2-0.
He also exited The Masters early (by his standards) to Mark Williams and was roundly defeated at the English Open in December by Martin Gould.
Naturally, the World Championship is something different altogether. But Ronnie, the current champion, is notoriously relaxed about his own chances. If he’s not in the mood, he’s not in the mood.
We think 43/10, however, is an excellent price. If Ronnie shows up, it’s him versus the field.
>> Bet on O’Sullivan at LuckLand!
Judd Trump (9/2)
After O’Sullivan, Judd Trump is arguably the best player on tour – both to watch and in terms of his ability.
Trump has openly admitted in the last few weeks that he hasn’t been at his best. He “somehow” managed to win The Masters in January despite playing poorly for much of it.
He then lost in the World Grand Prix final to an in-form Mark Allen in a thrilling final.
The fact that Judd Trump thinks he played poorly but still managed to win The Masters tells you all you need to know – even an underperforming Trump can largely beat anyone.
When Trump is bang at it, he’s practically unstoppable. 9/2 is a fantastic price for a man that reached the final last year and will be looking to go one better this year and lift the World Championship for the first time since 2019.
>> Bet on Judd Trump (9/2) at Grosvenor Casino!
Neil Robertson (133/20)
Neil Robertson has been installed as the third favourite at many UK betting sites – but we really don’t rate the Australian’s chances.
Incredibly, Robertson is still the world number four despite several poor results.
Yes, he did well at the English Open, where he eventually lost to Mark Selby in the semi-finals. But Robertson exited in the first round at The Masters and the World Grand Prix in January. He also only made it as far as Round 2 at the German Masters, where he was beaten by Chris Wakelin 5-4 despite some heavy scoring.
Robertson has also been largely disappointing at the Crucible since he won it in 2010. He’s never been back to the final and only made it to the semi-finals once.
>> Bet on Neil Robertson (133/20) at Mr Play Sport!
Mark Selby (9/1)
Where to start with Mark Selby?
The Jester from Leicester is the world number two. He’s won the World Championships four times (2014, 2016, 2017, and 2021) and, by his standards, is probably due a fifth win soon.
Will 2023 be the year for Mark?
Since winning the English Open in December, Selby’s form has been patchy. He lost in the first round of The Masters and the World Grand Prix before being dispatched in the snooker shoot-out against Mark Davis at the first attempt.
None of this should sway your bet too much, though. Selby typically bounces back in style when it’s time to play at the Crucible. He was knocked out in the second round last year by Yan Bingtao, and if history tells us anything, Selby will follow that up with a deep run this year.
>> Bet on Mark Selby (9/1) at 888 Sport today!
Mark Allen (10/1)
This is a newly focused, revitalised Mark Allen. He’s shed the pounds, sorted out a few financial issues, and he’s collecting trophies like a kid collects pocket money.
Allen won the World Grand Prix in January, the UK Championship in November, and the Northern Ireland Open in October.
It’s an incredible run and, at 10/1 odds, he’s surely the best dark horse you can bet on to win the World Championships.
The big question is whether or not he’ll bottle it. But if Allen can keep it together in the Crucible, he could pull another rabbit out of the hat and make 2022/23 his best-ever year on tour.

Guide to Snooker World Championship Betting
If you’re fairly new to snooker betting, the good news is that you can bet on snooker in many different ways.
Let’s take a look at a few of the best bet types with examples:
Outright Tournament Winner
Before (and during) the snooker World Championships, you can bet on who you think will win the whole tournament.
We’ve already listed the best odds for the top players, and if you backed any of them, they’d need to go to the final at the Crucible – and win.
Betting on the outright winner is always better pre-tournament because the odds will be longer. However, you can still bet on the outright winner until the final.

Moneyline Betting
The moneyline bet is a straightforward snooker bet: You’re simply betting on a player to win their match.
It doesn’t matter whether they whitewash their opponent or win by a single frame in a black ball match. All they have to do is win – and you’ll pick up your cash.
Moneyline betting at the snooker World Championships often offers great odds because you’ll typically get a big favourite playing against an underdog. This means the favourite will be priced short, but it also means you can make a killing if you have a hunch about an underdog.
>> Place your moneyline bets at Grosvenor now
Frame Handicap Betting
Snooker betting is no different from any other type of sports betting in that you can jump on the handicap.
With the frame handicap, you’re betting on a favourite to win the match by X number of frames.
For instance, let’s say Ronnie is drawn against an unranked player in the first round. The frame handicap for this match might be set at (-5.5), which means Ronnie would need to win the match by six frames or more (such as 10-2).
Frame handicap betting naturally comes with greater risks than the moneyline bet but offers better odds.
>> Find the best handicap betting odds at Mr Play Sport
Totals (Over/Under)
Another way to bet on a snooker match is with the totals bet.
For this one, you don’t need to bet on who will win the match – instead, you’re betting on whether or not you think it’ll be a tight, cagey affair or whether it will be over pretty quickly.
In other words, a sportsbook might set the totals market for a first-round match at the Crucible at 15.5 frames. This means you can either bet on there being over 15.5 total frames or under 15.5 total frames.
If you bet on over 15.5 total frames, the match needs at least 16 frames before it’s finished (the final score could be 10-6).
>> Place your totals bet at 888 Sport
Prop Bets
The best UK betting sites let you choose from a variety of snooker props bets that can make watching a game of snooker a bit more interesting. A prop bet is when you bet on a specific thing to happen during a match or a tournament.
Examples of snooker prop bets include the score after the first session (such as 2-2), which player will pot the first ball and which colour will be potted first, and which players will score the maximum break during the world snooker championships.
Before the World Championship starts, you can also bet on how many century breaks there’ll be, who’ll record the most centuries – and so on.

Snooker World Championships Betting Tips
1. Set a Bankroll
If you plan to bet throughout the snooker World Championships, a fixed bankroll will help you stay in the game for as long as possible.
Remember, the World Snooker Championship lasts for two weeks, which means staying the distance with your bets could be tough if you race out of the traps on Day One.
By setting a bankroll that you’ll stick to, you’ll avoid the temptation of making extra deposits and stay disciplined with your bets.
2. Study the Form
The funny thing about Mark Allen right now is that, despite his amazing run that’s seen him rise to the world number three spot, the markets still haven’t caught up. He’s priced at 10/1 for the World Championship, which is attractive.
Shaun Murphy is also picking up the pace before the Crucible and has been overpriced by the bookies.
You need to study the top players’ form before the tournament starts. How have the players fared in the recent tournaments? Who’s on it, and who isn’t? Where can you find value?
3. Bet on Players You Know
If there’s someone playing who you’ve never heard of before, it’s a good idea to avoid betting on them. Instead, bet on the players you know. This will help you place smarter bets because you’ll better understand their temperament and how they react in the big moments.
4. Don’t Get Carried Away
New UK betting sites let you play prop bets, such as who’ll pot the first ball in a frame or which colour will be potted first. While these can be fun little bets, it’s really easy to get carried away with them – especially when betting online.
Our advice is to ignore prop bets for the large part and instead focus on the more predictable elements of a snooker game.
Who’s Got the Best Odds to Win the Snooker World Championship?
The World Championship is by far the most exciting snooker tournament to watch and bet on. All the world’s best players take part in a bid to land the coveted trophy and a cheque for £500,000.
You can find the best snooker World Championship betting odds at our top pick LuckLand, where you can score a 147 of your own with a £10 bet welcome bonus.
