Match Preview: PSG vs Real Madrid has hosts favourite to win UCL 1st leg

The return of the UEFA Champions League in 2022 certainly could not have come back in any stronger fashion, as one of the biggest matches that football could possibly provide was created and will take place in the Round of 16.

Indeed, Tuesday 15 February will see football romanticists be able to witness a game that should be able to capture their love for the game in a way many would only have hoped Valentines Day a day prior would have, as Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid go face-to-face and look to try and assert their intentions in this year’s premier competition.

For betting enthusiasts who have noticed that Betway Sportsbook have a number of offers and promotional boosts available, they have boosted Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe to have 2+ shots on target from 13/8 to 2/1.

they will find that the French side has been given the label of favourites this time around as they have been priced at Evens to get the win at the Parc des Princes.

Naturally, the game is expected to be a close affair, though, with the sportsbook also providing rather slim prices on a potential draw or on an outcome that would see Real Madrid come away from the French capital and head back to the Spanish capital with the advantage heading into the second leg.

The game is interesting for a variety of different reasons, although many will perhaps be keeping a close eye on the attacking trio of PSG.

Of course, Kylian Mbappe continues to be linked with a move to Tuesday’s opponents and with his contract set to expire in the summer, there is a lot of speculation suggesting that he could be on his way to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Neymar Jr and Lionel Messi will also have the attention of many looking on as the duo were part of a legendary FC Barcelona system and had their fair share of moments when competing in the El Clasico derby during their days in Spain.

However, there must be doubts over Mauricio Pochettino’s position as the club manager given that the Parisians were dumped out of the French Cup Round of 16; a competition many would have been expecting them to win. Zinedine Zidane has allegedly been mentioned as a potential successor.

Both teams are flying high at the top of their respective league tables at the moment, though, which will only help to add to the anticipation of this encounter, as both teams are currently in a positive run of form.

What we do know at this stage is that this encounter should be brilliant and one that many will be disappointed not to see more than 90 minutes of on Tuesday.
