Sunday afternoon of matchday 10 in the 21/22 Premier League season will see Aston Villa take on West Ham United at Villa Park.
The two teams will go up against each other as they look to build on their current standing within the league, although both teams are in contrasting forms at the moment.
That is why West Ham are priced 6/4 favourites on Betway Sportsbook to take all three points and head back to London, although it has to be said that the odds are extremely close as the match is one of the toughest of the weekend to try and correctly predict.
According to the odds, Villa are only slight underdogs in this contest, although a draw does seem unlikely given the ability of the two sides.
As mentioned, the form guide shows some rather contrasting features between both sides, which is why there is thought to be a slight edge for David Moyes’ side over Dean Smith’s club.
The Villians are currently on a run of three defeats in the Premier League, essentially undoing all the good work that they managed at the end of September with a win against Manchester United. Indeed, October has been a nightmare for the club, as they have been beaten by Tottenham Hotspur, lost by a last-minute effort against Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers and a poor performance against Arsenal on Friday night.
They have slipped down the table and find themselves entering matchday 10 in 13th with just three wins and one draw (five defeats).
West Ham, though, are in better form, although they have been incredibly busy this month in regards to the amount of football being played.
In addition to the three Premier League games played so far, which featured a defeat to Brentford but wins against Everton and Tottenham Hotspur, they have competed in the UEFA Europa League (a victory against Genk at the London Stadium) as well as the Carabao Cup where they defeated Manchester City on penalties earlier this week.
The Hammers currently sit fourth in England’s top tier and continue to put in a number of impressive performances as they look to consolidate their position as a club that continues to fight for European football.
Bertrand Traore could make a return for the hosts, as could Morgan Sanson, whilst Leon Bailey could get more minutes after his own brief absence, whilst the Irons could have Vladimir Coufal back for the game.
