It’s perhaps the most prestigious individual award in American sports: the Heisman Trophy. Win, and you join the ranks of legends like Staubach, Sanders, and Dorsett – names that will live on among college football fans for as long as the sport does.
This year’s award will be handed out on Saturday, December 10, and the finalists are USC’s Caleb Williams, Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, TCU’s Max Duggan, and Stetson Bennett of Georgia.
But which of these players has the best Heisman odds?
Heisman Trophy Odds at BetOnline
- Caleb Williams: -5000
- Max Duggan: +1400
- Stetson Bennett: +2800
- C.J. Stroud: +4500
While this year’s race looks to be a walk in favor of USC’s Williams, shockers do happen (anyone remember Jason White over Larry Fitzgerald?), so it may be worth taking a flier on a longshot at these odds.
If you do decide to wager on the competition, the best place to do it is at BetOnline, which has great Heisman odds (and fantastic college football odds in general). It’s also one of the safest and most well-respected sportsbooks in the world, online or otherwise.

2022 Heisman Trophy Odds and Prediction
This has been an exceedingly odd year for Heisman Trophy betting, as a few of the preseason favorites (like Bryce Young, Will Anderson, and TreVeyon Henderson) fell off almost immediately.
USC QB Caleb Williams is an exception, however. Many people predicted a big season for the Oklahoma transfer, as he’d already put up big numbers in Lincoln Riley’s offense before transferring to reunite with his coach at USC.
Throw in an uber-talented receiving corps headlined by Jordan Addison and Mario Williams, and it’s not hard to see why people thought he’d be here.
Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud, another popular early pick, had a great season for the Buckeyes and earned an invite to the ceremony, but it feels like he’s never been truly in the hunt here. Most oddsmakers have him pegged as an extreme longshot here.
At the extreme opposite end of the spectrum, we have Max Duggan. Not only was he not even a consideration for most bettors in August, he wasn’t even a favorite to win the starting job at TCU! Indeed, Duggan put his name in the transfer portal after losing a QB competition to Chandler Morris, and only took over behind center after Morris was hurt in the season opener.
Finally, there’s Stetson Bennett — perhaps the most unheralded national championship-winning QB of all time. The former walk-on has silenced all doubters in his career, though, outlasting numerous blue chip quarterbacks to post a 24-3 record as a starter.
Indeed, the four finalists are evenly split between preseason favorites Stroud and Williams, who had the third-best odds before the season began, and unforeseen heroes Bennett and Dugan. It’s a motley crew that no one really saw coming in August, and it should make for an exciting show.
Let’s get one thing straight here, though: this trophy is Williams to lose.
Everyone expects the Trojans signal caller to take home the hardware Saturday night, but if there’s anyone that could potentially spoil his big night (besides Utah’s defense), it would be Duggan.
Heisman Trophy Pick:
- Caleb Williams (but consider placing a bet on Max Duggan, especially considering the great price he’s getting)

Heisman Trophy Betting Guide: What You Should Know
Betting on the Heisman Trophy winner is one of the simplest sports bets you could possibly make. All you have to do is decide who you think will win, and then look at the odds they’re getting from the sportsbook.
These odds will be expressed numerically, and they represent how big of a payout you’d get on a $100 bet. For example, at BetOnline, Max Duggan is +1400. That means that, if you bet $100 on him and won, you’d get $1,400 for your trouble (for a total of $1,500).
On the other hand, Caleb Williams is the favorite at -5000. In order to win $100 by betting on him, you’d have to risk $5,000 first (so you’d bet $5,000 to hopefully get a total of $5,100 back).
In situations like this, betting on the favorite doesn’t make much financial sense. You’d be risking a huge amount in order to win very little, and as we said, upsets do happen here.
But on the other hand…upsets do happen here. That means that it could be worth taking a flier on one of the longshots with great odds. Will you win? Probably not — but the payout will be massive if you do.

Sites with the Best Heisman Betting Odds
1. BetOnline — Best Site Overall for Heisman Odds 2022

Pros:
- Good range of odds
- Lines released very early
- Risk-free wagers available
- Dozens of NCAA football futures
- Offers head-to-head props
Cons:
- High deposit minimums on bonuses
If you love betting on college football — regardless of whether it’s on the Heisman Trophy or an obscure Tuesday Night MACtion game — BetOnline is the place to be. They have tons of odds on just about anything you’d want, all the way down to contests at the FCS level.
They’re also known for releasing their lines earlier than the competition, so if you’re betting on the Heisman, you should check with them periodically throughout the year. You might just find an incredible deal if you do.
BetOnline Odds for the Heisman Finalists
- Caleb Williams: -5000
- Max Duggan: +1400
- Stetson Bennett: +2800
- C.J. Stroud: +4500
One thing’s for sure: the oddsmakers here do not want you betting on Caleb Williams. Their -5000 line is double what you’ll find on him elsewhere, but realistically, is there that much difference between -5000 and -2500? You’re not making that bet either way.
What is interesting is the price on Stetson Bennett. It’s one of the more generous lines we’ve found, and it may be worth a look here. After all, Heisman voters have proven time and time again that they love a winner, and there won’t be a more accomplished QB at the ceremony than the signal caller from Georgia.
Sports Bonus
At BetOnline, you can get a 50% match up to $1,000 on your first deposit by using code BOL1000. You’ll have to deposit at least $55 to qualify for it, though, so be aware of that up-front. There’s also a 10x rollover requirement to satisfy.

2. MyBookie — Best Site for Betting on Caleb Williams

Pros:
- User-friendly site
- Filled with useful news and information
- Great odds across the board
- Bonuses up to $1,000 for both new and existing players
Cons:
- Substantial minimum deposits to qualify for bonuses
- College football bets can be hard to find
New players might want to start at MyBookie, as their site is as user-friendly as it gets. If you’re not completely sure what you’re doing, their intuitive bet slip makes it easy to see exactly what you’re betting on — and how much you’re risking to do it.
MyBookie Odds for the Heisman Finalists
- Caleb Williams: -2272
- Max Duggan: +2000
- Stetson Bennett: +2900
- C.J. Stroud: +4400
You won’t find a better price on Caleb Williams than the -2272 shown here (and trust us, we’ve looked). That’s still not a great price, but if you’re a Trojans fan who’s bound and determined to bet on your star QB, this is the place to do it.
More interesting to us, though, is the price on Max Duggan. Since we consider him the biggest threat to Williams, hedging with a small wager on the Horned Frogs hero might be a smart play here.
Sports Bonus
Many sportsbooks only offer deposit bonuses to new players, but not MyBookie. Their reload bonuses are almost as enticing as their new player promos, which is why so many bettors are loyal to the platform.
You can earn up to $1,000 regardless of whether you’re new or have an existing account, with a 50% match for new players and a 25% match for existing ones. The new player offer requires a $50 minimum deposit, while the reload bonus is $100. Both offers are subject to a 10x rollover requirement.

3. BetUS — Best Deposit Bonuses to Boost Heisman Trophy Odds

Pros:
- Extremely generous bonuses (up to $2,500)
- Lots of information for each market
- Great college football specials
- BetUS tv shows offer picks and analysis
Cons:
- Bonuses expire two weeks after activation
- High deposit minimums
If you like a sleek, flashy presentation, then it’s hard to beat BetUS. They throw tons of information at you, including multiple TV shows centered around picks and analysis, and they also try to wow you with incredible bonuses.
While all that’s fantastic, it may be intended to distract you from the fact that their odds usually aren’t as good as what you’ll find at our top two picks.
BetUS Odds for the Heisman Finalists
- Caleb Williams: -2500
- Max Duggan: +1200
- Stetson Bennett: +2200
- C.J. Stroud: +3500
None of these prices are especially good, although the Caleb Williams line is one of the friendlier we’ve seen. However, as we’ll soon see, BetUS throws enough bonus money at players that it may well be worth sacrificing a bit of juice on the odds.
Sports Bonus
If you use code JOIN125 when you sign up, you’ll be eligible for a 125% signup bonus up to $3,125. Be advised, however, that not all of that is for the sportsbook.
It’s actually split between their sportsbook and casino, with the sportsbook getting 100% and the casino getting the remaining 25%. So, you can get as much as $2,500 in bonus cash for betting on sports and $625 for use at the slots or tables.
The catch is that the minimum deposit amount is $100, and the bonus expires two weeks after activation. However, given that bowl season is coming up, it shouldn’t be hard to find action for all that moolah.

Where to Bet on the 2022 Heisman Trophy?

Heisman Trophy Predictions
Caleb Williams Will Win If…
Nothing shocking happens, and voters weren’t swayed by seeing him struggle against Utah in the PAC-12 Championship Game. If the voters actually watched that game, though, they would’ve seen Williams torching the Utes in the first quarter before suffering multiple injuries, so that performance might even bolster his case.
This award is truly Williams’s to lose, and we don’t foresee that happening.

Max Duggan Will Win If…
Voters are swayed by one of the biggest feel-good stories of the year. Duggan was an afterthought when the season began, a mediocre starter who had been supplanted by a younger QB.
However, new coach Sonny Dykes brought in a new offense and handed the reins to Duggan without reservation, and the talented Iowan responded by leading his team to an undefeated run through the regular season.
The Horned Frogs stumbled in their last outing, though, and they were more than a little lucky to get that spotless record in the first place. While we expect Duggan to sway a few kind-hearted voters, chances are it won’t be enough to win him the hardware.
>> Click here to bet on Max Duggan
Stetson Bennett Will Win If…
Voters value winning above all else. This former walk-on took over as the undisputed starter last year, and all he’s done since then is go 24-1 as a starter, with a national championship thrown in. Bennett’s Bulldogs are the overwhelming favorite to win it all again this year, so voters might want to reward the young man accordingly.
However, the Heisman Trophy is (at least theoretically) intended to go to the most outstanding player in college football, and Bennett might not be one of the dozen most outstanding players on his own team.
The Georgia roster is stacked, and many voters will likely feel that any quarterback could’ve gone 24-1 with all that firepower behind them. Expect them to feel that the invite is reward enough for Bennett.
>> Click here to bet on Stetson Bennett
C.J. Stroud Will Win If…
He won’t. It’s honestly as simple as that. While Stroud was the preseason favorite for the award, he really didn’t do anything to wow the voters over the course of the season. His numbers were very good, but not eye-popping, and his Buckeyes struggled with inferior opponents several times in the regular season before ultimately getting demolished by Michigan.
In Stroud’s defense, the Ohio State offense has resembled a MASH unit this season, with key injuries affecting virtually every position group. We don’t expect the voters to care enough about that to give him the keys to the Heisman House, though.
>> Click here to bet on C.J. Stroud
Our Prediction
Caleb Williams is the overwhelming favorite for a reason: he’s had an incredible season, and the voters are almost guaranteed to award him the trophy Saturday night.
If you want to be contrarian, though, you can bet on Duggan in the hopes that he’ll pull enough heartstrings to get the upset. We wouldn’t count on it — but this is college football, and much stranger things have happened.

Which Sportsbook Should I Choose to Bet on the Heisman Trophy?
BetOnline is probably the best sportsbook for betting on the Heisman Trophy, as it’s extremely well-rounded and player-friendly. If you’re planning on betting on Caleb Williams, though, you might want to head over to MyBookie instead.
Who is the Favorite to Win the Heisman Trophy?
Caleb Williams of USC is the overwhelming favorite to win, with odds on him ranging from -2200 to -5000. He’s currently -2272 at MyBookie, which is the best price we’ve found.
Can I Bet on the 2023 Heisman Trophy Winner?
No, you can’t bet on who will win the 2023 Heisman Trophy — at least, not yet. Expect a few sportsbooks to release lines as early as after this Saturday’s ceremony. BetOnline is consistently one of the first books to release odds, so we’d recommend visiting them after this year’s hardware is handed out.
Heisman Odds 2022, Final Words: Are You Expecting a Heisman Trophy Shocker in 2022?
It may seem a foregone conclusion that Caleb Williams will join other Heisman Trophy winners as the newest member of college football’s most exclusive club, but it wouldn’t be unprecedented for one of the underdogs to edge him out in the end.
Regardless of whether you’re betting on Williams or trying to cash in on a longshot, we’d recommend placing your wagers at BetOnline. They’re possibly the most well-respected sportsbook on the internet, and they have great odds and generous bonuses.
Soon, college football will crown its big individual winner for the 2022 season. If you think you know who that will be, you could end the season as quite the winner yourself.
