For the first time, we’ve been sent some footy-related music to enjoy and review for you. My Brother Woody fronted by Mike Cleare have released a collection of amusing little ditties dedicated to our favourite past time. In Mike’s own words, “In late February I decided to set myself the task of writing and recording 10 football related songs. Its an alternative and (hopefully) humourous look at football with songs about 50p Heads, Panini Stickers, BounceBackability & other random nonsense”. With a college indie-rock sound reminiscent of early 90’s luminaries Teenage Fanclub and The Lemonheads, it’s certainly not an unpleasant collection of notes and lyrics to put in your ears – the topic of most of the songs featured will resonate with most listeners (Don’t Read The Chatboxes Beside Football Streams, Early Reducer, Literally). If you fancy giving it a listen you can download it here http://mybrotherwoody.bandcamp.com/album/random-football-musings-set-to-music-2 and pay what you want.  MARK GODFREY – EDITOR
