  1. Read your review of the fathers of football and think you fell into the same trap everyone has about Jimmy Hogan. You say he was ahead of his time in relation to physical fitness and training and yet Preston used a blackboard, didn’t they, in the 1880s and Bob Holmes was the coach at Stoneyhurst College when he retired in the 1890s. So what future are you referring to, exactly?

  2. Just to say that the name The Football Pink was used as the name of the Gay Football Supporters Network fanzine from 1989 to 1992. Good to see you still using the name of course in deference to those Saturday night papers.

  3. Just over six months ago,in response from a request from the chief sports editor of the Portsmouth sports mail,i started writing a column in their weekly publication.Under the self adopted pseudonym Northstandcritic i retell a time when football was simply better.I have really enjoyed retelling these tails . Although it is very time consuming ,i hope my efforts are helping to keep this bastion of footballs dying fabric alive.I dont know if you would be interested in sharing some of my articles to a larger field in your blogs. All of my articles can be viewed on my northstandcritic facebook page. Many thanks Sean
