Once again we’ve scoured through the vast programme collection of MILES McCLAGAN to bring you some gems from testimonials gone by. Nevermind your Mark Noble’s…

This game may have taken place in 1989, but Mel Pejic and family look like they supplied a photo taken during the Second World War for his testimonial at Edgar Street

Twenty-five pence? Somebody has definitely overvalued the production efforts for Joe Butler’s big night.

I’m assured this isn’t Jimmy Savile…

A testimonial for a referee, albeit a World Cup final referee, must be pretty rare. Don’t get your hopes up, Mr. Clattenburg.

‘It’s a funny old game’…not half as funny as seeing you poured into that Villa shirt, Greavesie.

Pat Jennings’ hairdo deserves its own testimonial. 50 years and still going strong…

Swansea City stalwart Harry Griffiths was awarded his testimonial posthumously – he died three months before Everton visited the Vetch.

Thanks to that carefully placed silver trophy, we’ll never know if Bryan Hamilton’s short shorts were able to keep any of his modesty from spilling out the sides.

  1. I went to the Joe Butler testimonial and I have the souvenir brochure. Someone has been ripping you off!

What you show is just the front cover, showing the full price, with the teams typed on the sheet.

The real thing had 32 pages and outlined his career with Swindon Town including his contribution to Town’s win over Arsenal in the 1969 League Cup final.
