Top Trumps: World Football Stars Game Review

When football and playing cards are combined, there is no end to the fun that can be experienced when a game is decided to be played; especially when a game is as easy to play as Top Trumps is!

Indeed, Top Trumps: World Football Stars card game will have football fans cheering away with each win that they make, just as if they were celebrating a goal being scored at a major tournament or if their favourite team or player had managed to find the back of the net.

Many will have already heard about Top Trumps and the game that is playable via the use of the cards, however the football edition that has been provided by this game is amongst one of the best and one that will prove to be as educational as it is enjoyable.

Anyone that is not quite sure how Top Trumps works, or might need a refresher on how to play the card game, will be able to learn the process in the quickest time as possible, as the game is incredibly simple despite requiring some strategic elements to it.

Here is a quick rundown on how to play the game:

  1. Before playing, simply shuffle the deck of 30 superstar footballers and then deal them face down to each person who is playing.
  2. Players are only permitted to be able to look at their top card and can not look at any of the other cards that they may have.
  3. Once the top card has been drawn, the person who goes first will be required to try and beat the others playing by calling out their best stat.
  4. The other players will then reveal whether they will be able to beat it or if they have been defeated in that particular round.
  5. The winner is the person that has the highest value and they will then collect all of the cards that were in play for that round.
  6. The overall winner will be the first person to collect all of the cards!

As highlighted in rule 1, there are 30 different footballing superstars that are available in this game, thus meaning there are a total of 30 different playing cards available to use within the game. Indeed, the 30 cards will represent some of the best footballers to be playing the game at the moment, with icons such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Virgil van Dijk and Luis Suarez amongst the top cards, as well as England’s Harry Kane.

A quality photo has been provided on the card with the players jumping off them, whilst there are a number of different elements on the card – which are read out by players when playing the game. These can include things such as their number of international caps, their total goals, the number of trophies that they have been able to win, the year of their birth and the Top Trumps rating that has been provided to them.

Moreover, there is a small biography at the bottom that is allowing for some learning to also take place!

Indeed, the Top Trumps: World Football Stars game is available at a number of major retailers, including Winning Moves UK and football fans will need to have these cards!
